Let’s learn right form of verbs exercise through which you can test your Basic Level Of English!

1. You (go) to the cinema last night?

Answer: Did you go to the cinema last night?

Explanation: This is an interrogative sentence of simple past tense where we need to use the auxiliary verb did and the present form of the main verb.

2.The man (hang) for murder tomorrow.

Answer: The man will be hanged for murder tomorrow.

Explanation: This is an affirmative sentence of the simple future tense in passive voice where we need to use the auxiliary verb shall be or will be and the past participle form of the main verb.

3.What you (do) next year?

Answer: What will you do next year?

Explanation: This is an interrogative sentence of the simple future tense where we need to use the auxiliary verb shall or will and the present form of the main verb.

4.I have a boy (come) from the orphanage.

Answer: I have a boy coming from the orphanage.

Explanation: This is a simple present tense otherwise we could use(come) as after have/has + PP form of the main verb but this not present perfect tense. After have/ has came is totally absurd as it is the past form of the main verb. Since this is a simple sentence where have is the main verb for which we have to add ing with another verb(coming) to keep the structure intact because we can use only a single verb in a simple sentence.

5.It (compare) with human blood in the past.

Answer: It was compared with human blood in the past.

Explanation: This is an affirmative sentence of the simple past tense in the passive voice where we need to use the auxiliary verb was or were and the past participle form of the main verb.

6.I not(choose) my career yet.

Answer: I have not chosen my career yet.

Explanation: This is an affirmative sentence of the present perfect tense where we need to use the auxiliary verb have or has and the past participle form of the main verb.

7.We(reach) the station before the train leaves.

Answer: We shall have reached the station before the train leaves.

Explanation: This is an affirmative sentence of the future perfect tense where we need to use the auxiliary verb shall have or will have and the past participle form of the main verb. Actually, we need to use the future perfect tense when there is a simple future tense or a simple present tense after before.

8.We are used to(eat) rice three times a day.

Answer: We are used to eating rice three times a day.

Explanation: The structure is subject+ (be=am, is, are, was, were, or get) + used to + (Verb+ing). Example: I am used to reading every day. We get used to reading every day.
