Airport Information

Conversation A

David: At what time does the next plane to Texas leave?

John: The next one is flight 12 at eleven fifty-five.

David: What’s the next one after that?

John: Flight 21 at one past five.

Conversation B

David: How often is there a flight to Texas?

John: We have a flight to Texas every day.

David: Are they non-stop flights?

John: Yes. direct to Texas.

Conversation C

David: Could I make a reservation for flight 700 to Texas?

John: I’m sorry, but everything is taken.

David: How about the next flight tomorrow at two o, clock?

John: Yes. I can give you a reservation on that.

Conversation D

David: I’d like to check in for the flight to Florida.

John: Fine. Do you have your ticket and passport?

David: Yes. here’s my ticket and I’ll get out my passport.

John: Would you please put your baggage on the scales?

David: how long is the flight from Florida to Texas?

Conversation A

David: Where’s the hotel, please?

John: It’s on the main street.

David: Where’s that?

John: It’s the next street straight ahead.

Conversation B

David: Can you tell me where the hotel is?

John: It’s in the next block.

David: On this side or the other side.

John: This side. Straight ahead of you.

Conversation C

David: I want to go to the BeachSide Hotel.

John: Do you have a map?

David: Yes. I do. here it is.

John: The hotel is right there at that intersection.

Conversation D

David: Excuse me. I’m lost.

John: Where do you live?

David: I live at the Royal Hotel.

John: The Royal Hotel is two blocks way.

Conversation E

David: Can you help me, please?

John: What’s the matter?

David: Where’s the grand hotel on this map?

John: It’s right here-right next to the train station.

David: Where’s the airline’s office?

John: It’s near the bus terminal.

David: How far is that from here?

John: About a half a mile, I think.

David: Where’s the post office?

John: It’s three blocks that way.

David: What did you say?

John: Three blocks up that street.

David: Where’s the airport?

John: It’s north of the city.

David: What’s the best way to get there?

John: Take highway 15 to the north.

John: I don’t know.

David: How can I find out?

John: Why don’t you ask a policeman?

David: Where’s the nearest drugstore?

John: There’s one in that corner.

David: Do you mean that store over there?

John: Yes. That’s the one.

Getting Information

Conversation A

David: What’s the matter?

John: I need some information.

David: Go to that desk over there.

John: Thank you very much.

Conversation B

David: Can you help me, please?

John: I’ll try to.

David: What’s the best way to get to this address?

John: I’m sorry, I really don’t know.

Conversation C

David: How can I get to that address?

John: You can go by taxi.

David: Isn’t there any other way?

John: Yes, by bus, but it’s complicated.

David: How do I get to the nearest subway station?

John: It’s two blocks half that street.

David: Do you mean the street running that way?

John: Yes. That’s the one.

David: Is this the right way to the grand central station?

John: No. You’re going the wrong way.

John: It’s in the next block-straight ahead.

John: That’s all right.

John: It’s downtown on zoo street.

David: Do you know the exact address?

John: Yes. It’ll do.

David: Can you tell me where the library is located?

John: Yes. Do you see that mosque down the street?

David: Yes. It’s quite easy to see with such a tall spire.

John: Just turn left there and walk three blocks.

Conversation D

David: Are the instructions complicated for you?

John: Well, would mind repeating them?

David: I’d be glad to.

John: I’d like to write them down this time.

John: Turn right and go four blocks.
